The film is a follow-up to Alvin and the Chipmunks (2007). Right after the Squeakquel died out of theaters 20th Century Fox confirmed that a third Alvin and the Chipmunks movie would be produced. While it's perfect for the kids (minus one really weird, out-of-place pole-dancing joke), it's overall a poor sequel that I can't really recommend. Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel is a 2009 CGI/live-action film, directed by Betty Thomas and distributed by Twentieth Century Fox, with Regency Enterprises and Bagdasarian Productions. While the first film had a few charming and entertaining moments, 'The Squeakquel' loses those moments, and overall, it's boring, much less fun, less humorous, and the soundtrack is definitely worse here.
